SOURCE: FanLaLa
We chatted with the guys of Big Time Rush about their time in the studio!  See what James MaslowCarlos PenaLogan Henderson and Kendall Schmidt have to say about the latest!
Fanlala: Can you catch us up on what's happening in the studio?
James Maslow: We’ve been working on our second album with some very talented people like Chris Rojas and Damon Sharpe. It’s been a pretty unbelievable experience especially this time around because we’re more comfortable in the studio.
Fanlala: Can you tell us about any of the tracks or what we can expect from this album?
Logan Henderson: There are a few surprises on this album. I don’t want to ruin it so that’s all I’m going to say but I think are fans will be excited to see where we take our sound.
Fanlala: What do you do to take a break during long hours in the studio?
Carlos Pena: There’s not a lot of downtime when we’re in the studio but when we do take breaks we’ll do stuff like call friends or check Twitter. We’ve been pretty good about updating our fans on what we’re up to while recording!
Fanlala: What must you have in the studio with you at all times? Any particular snacks/drinks?
Kendall Schmidt:
We all have pretty bad sweet tooth’s so I’d say some kind of candy, particularly sour stuff.

Fanlala: What makes this new album different?
Carlos Pena: We’ve had the opportunity to write more for this album and to really contribute as individuals. The first album was a totally new experience but this time around things are a little more familiar.
Fanlala: Your fan, Alexandra, wants to know...."Do you guys have more fun recording music in the studio or filming the show?!?!"
Kendall Schmidt
: I know it varies for all of us but personally I love recording in the studio. Music is my passion but I’m so lucky to be able to do both!
Fanlala: What's your summer anthem?
Logan Henderson: Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People."

Big Time Rush interview with Teen Vogue

Teen Vogue did an interview with Big Time Rush. Guess who occasionally checks out Perez Hilton's website? Here's the article:

Since we last spoke to James Maslow, Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt, and Carlos Pena, aka Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush, the boys have had their hands full –"It's crazy that the Times Square show was only a year ago. It feels like it was, like, seven," says funny boy Carlos. That's probably because these guys are some of the hardest-working stars in the biz. Barely a week after wrapping the second season of their hit show, they're already packing their bags for a fourteen-week summer tour. "Filming is a lot of fun," says James, "but you don't really get the gratification of the show until three or six months later, when it premieres. Whereas when you're on stage, it's kind of immediate satisfaction." Bandmate Logan agrees: "There's such a demand for us to see all of our fans, so just to be able to get out and perform for people is going to be a huge thrill." (Go to btrband.com to see where they'll be playing.)
Teen Vogue: Pop-culture guilty pleasure?
James Maslow: I have to admit, I check out Perez Hilton once in a while.
Logan Henderson: Probably Twitter. I check it far too often.
Kendall Schmidt: I don't watch reality shows, but I watch The Soup, [which] makes fun of them, so I guess that's pop culture.
Carlos Pena: You know, time after time I catch myself looking at those blogs to see what's going on in the celebrity world.
TV: Most-played song on your iPod?
JM: Over the last five years, it's probably been Jack Johnson's "Banana Pancakes" or "Better Together." I listen to all kinds of music, but he's one of my favorite artists and always reminds me of home.
LH: In the last few days, probably Chris Brown's "Beautiful People."
KS: Probably "Such Great Heights," by the Postal Service, or "Photograph Is Proof," by Taking Back Sunday.
CP: There's a song, it's one of the first songs I ever wrote—as in, actually wrote and produced and everything. I've had that on replay quite a few times. It's actually really cool to hear something you thought up.
TV: Favorite sweet?
JM: Either Snickers or Ferrero Rocher. Yeah, those are delicious.
LH: Chocolate chip cookies. Hands down.
KS: I'm a huge candy fan. My favorite growing up was always Sour Belts or Sour Straws.
CP: Sour Warheads, sour, sour, sour. Anything sour!
TV: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
JM: I think I'd want to fly. It's a pretty common request but I think it'd be awesome.
LH: Aw, come on! Flying is like the ultimate superpower, it's just like, the coolest thing. I don't want to pick the same one. Teleportation? Yeah, let's do that.
KS: I've always kind of had a thing for Spider-Man. It wasn't unreasonable. I mean, obviously he's shooting webs out of his wrists, but it wasn't like he could just fly anywhere, or pick up anything. He can climb buildings, and be all spidery.
CP: I've always wanted to be able to hold my breath for like, ever, and swim in the water like a fish. So I guess Aquaman power?
TV: What are you reading right now?
JM: I'm reading a really boring book—I'm sure most people wouldn't be interested, but it's on free trade and the benefits of tariffs versus quotas. I've always been interested in American history, where it's come from, and you know, the politics of that.
LH: I'm reading the new Steven Tyler book that just came out.
KS: I just read a book called Breathless. I think it's by Michael Crichton. I can't remember who the author is. I could Google it.
CP: I actually just started Steven Tyler's book. I think it's called The Noise in My Head or something like that. When we got our gold record, one of the Sony execs was like, "Hey, here's Steven Tyler's book, you should read it!"

Momentum Continues as Big Time Rush Gear Up for Live Performance at Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards, Saturday, April 2
NEW YORK, Feb. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush gave viewers some much–needed spring break fun, as the “Big Time Beach Party” Presidents’ Day special (Monday, Feb. 21, 8-9 p.m., ET/PT) ranked as Monday’s number-one show on broadcast and basic cable with kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 and topped basic cable in the time period with total viewers (4.3 million). Guest-starring Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek, Hop and Arthur), “Big Time Beach Party” increased Nick’s prior-year time period levels by triple digits across the board and handily bested competitively scheduled programming with high double-digit gains in every target demo.

Beyond the success of the special, Big Time Rush and their fans are gearing up for more excitement as the group prepares for a headline performance of their new single, “Boyfriend,” live at Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, April 2, at 8 p.m. (ET/tape delayed for West Coast), hosted by Jack Black from the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles.
In “Big Time Beach Party,” Big Time Rush and the Palm Woods kids get to hang out at Griffin’s beach house for the day. The special featured a performance of “Boyfriend” and a cover of The Beach Boys’ “Dance, Dance, Dance.”
A co-production with Sony Music, Big Time Rush launched last year as Nickelodeon’s highest-rated and most-watched live-action premiere with kids, tweens and total viewers (6.8 million). Entertainment Weekly interviews Big Time Rush

From: EW.com
LOGAN PHILLIP HENDERSON, 21
What’s your favorite food or vice to get you through a long recording session?
As bad as it is…coffee. I usually take down a couple of cups during a session.
What song on your album doesn’t get enough love that people should really listen to?
We have so many great songs on the album, but one of my personal favorites is “Nothing Even Matters.”
What kind of music did you grow up listening to?
I grew up with the Beatles, B.B. King, Elvis, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, Incubus, Taking Back Sunday, Radiohead, and Michael Jackson.
JAMES DAVID MASLOW, 20
What boy bands out there do you think are great—and why?
Looking at the past, ‘NSYNC was the greatest in my opinion. They literally spent years rehearsing before they did any major tour and thanks to that, they were a well-oiled machine. Justin Timberlake is a prime example of how a truly talented artist can then transition from a group into a successful solo career, and the lesson I take from that is to never stop training and striving to get better.
Who are your celebrity crushes?
I have had a crush on Emma Watson since the first Harry Potter. No, I haven’t met her yet, but a guy can hope.
What do you look for in a girl?
For me to be interested in a girl, she has to have an outgoing personality and a passion of her own. Low maintenance is nice, too.
CARLOS ROBERTO PENA, JR., 21
Why do you think Snoop Dogg wanted to work with you?
We were very excited when we found out that Snoop Dogg wanted to do the show. He told us that his daughter was a big fan and that once he knew that, it was a done deal. In his many years of doing shows and videos, his daughter had not once wanted to come to the set as much as she did for the Big Time Rush Snoop “Boyfriend” video!
What was it like working with him?
Working with Snoop Dogg was just as awesome as anyone might think. He met all of our expectations and more. He’s just as cool and relaxed as he appears.
You’ve worked with Snoop Dogg now, but who are your dream collaborators?
We would love to work with Justin Timberlake. We all look up to him very much and it would be a dream to collaborate on a song with him.
KENDALL FRANCIS SCHMIDT, 20
What song on your album doesn’t get enough love that people should really listen to?
Thankfully, our fans give a lot of love to all our songs. That is why we have the best fans in the world.
Why do you think Snoop Dogg wanted to work with you? What was it like working with him?
I know he was a fan because his daughter was a big fan of the show and the music. So we got the chance to work with a legend…and he couldn’t have been any cooler! Thanks Snoop!
You’ve worked with Snoop Dogg now, but who are your dream collaborators?
We all agree — Justin Timberlake would be pretty amazing.

The 6,000-square-foot villa is set back from the road on a gated lot. It has a paver-stone courtyard with a fountain. The custom front door, with leaded and beveled glass and side lights, opens to a two-story foyer with limestone floor, curved staircase and crystal chandelier.

J-14's interview with Ciara Bravo (Katie Knight) from Big Time Rush

J-14 Magazine interview with Ciara Bravo. Here it is!
Ciara Bravo stars as Katie Knight on Big Time Rush, which means she’s got the real scoop on your fave BTR boys. Read on to find out what it’s really like to play Kendall Schmidt’s little sister on TV, why she keeps getting stuck in vents, and what BTR guest star Russell Brand is really like!
J-14: Can you tell us about your character, Katie? Are you anything like her in real life?
Ciara Bravo: My character is very sarcastic and conniving. She is great at thinking up a plan on the spot, but she also has a sweet side to her — she does have feelings, which can be very hard to believe sometimes, especially for her brother. I’d say she’s very different from me. I don’t think I could be as conniving as Katie. I would describe myself, without trying to sound narcissistic, as a nice person. I love making friends and just being completely goofy. With my best friends around, I just go crazy. I’m talkative too!
J-14: What was your fave BTR episode so far?
Ciara: I love the pranks episode ["Big Time Pranks"] because all of the crazy stuff we had to do. For example, when I had to spray the silly string, I was flopping down from a vent and just like going completely crazy with it. I love Big Time Rush because every day on set, something new happens and you’re just like, ‘Bever before would this ever happen!’ In the “Robin and Hoodie” episode, I was dropping from vents again and from a locker. I’m always popping out of something — a duffle bag in one episode or from a vent or a trash can [in another]. I’ve done it all.
J-14: You play Kendall’s little sister on the show. Is he like a big brother to you in real life as well?
Ciara: He has. He is exactly like the perfect big brother because he’s really sweet, but then he also messes with you. But he’s so much fun to be around and is just fantastic. I do have real siblings. I have an older sister and a younger brother, but Kendall is like an addition to the family. We love to just hang out and talk. I play guitar now, so Kendall and I sometimes jam out on the guitar. He’s very good at guitar — he’s amazing. He teaches me some stuff on the guitar and we just hang out, chill, and mess with each other.
J-14: What was it like being in Natasha Bedingfield’s “Love Like This” music video?
Ciara: That was my first job, actually. My hair was lighter then, so I wasn’t as much of a brunette as I was — there were chunks of blonde in my hair. It was a lot of fun. Your first experience on set, everything is so crazy because it’s something you wouldn’t imagine would happen in your wildest dreams and finally, your first job, your dreams are starting to come true. It’s an amazing feeling. Natasha wasn’t there when I was filming, but I did go to a meet and greet, and I talked to her and was like, “I was in your music video.” She was like, “Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I know it was a rushed decision.” I actually got a picture with her, and we weren’t allowed to have pictures. It made me feel really special.
J-14: Russell Brand is guest starring on Big Time Rush. What was he like on set?
Ciara: He is so funny and sweet. I love Russell Brand. He is an amazing guy. He’s one of those people you can just talk to forever, for hours on end. We talked about stuff that we’re talking about now, sort of like where I came from, how I was hired, crazy stories like that. I didn’t really get any [of his] jokes, but he’s just hilarious.

Thanks J-14!

Big Time Rush, stars of the hit Nickelodeon show of the same name, have released a version of 'Boyfriend' featuring Snoop Dogg.

The rapper opens the new song with a verse in which he makes a plea to be your boyfriend. "I can lift you off your feet like a flight attendant," he insists. "Imma send this car for you, is you ridin' in it?'

The track opens into a relaxed pop song with an R&B-style beat as band members take turns delivering their arguments for why a girl should give them a chance, concluding with the hook, "All I really want is to be your boy, boy, b-b-boy, b-b-boyfriend."

The original, non-Snoop version of 'Boyfriend' appears on Big Time Rush's debut album 'BTR.' The song was produced by Lucas Secon, who was worked with the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Kylie Minogue and Sean Kingston.

You can listen to 'Boyfriend' by Big Time Rush on AOL Radio's New Pop First station.
